I'm carrying 2 as most do. 1 is 42"x36" with a 7' handle. The other is smaller at 30"x24" with a 5' handle. I usually use the larger for salmon but have had times where we netted 2 at once and the smaller one worked also.

Get a small loop size of the netting itself, its a lot easier on the fish if you are releasing, rubber coated even beter

I have a large Ranger (34" hoop?) for salmon and the same net with a 25" hoop for early season Browns and walleye. Extendable 7' pole, hexagon pole and rubber coated net.

There's one for sale on the classifieds right now, extendable handle like the smaller one I have and not a bad price.

I took my extendable west marine boat hook and removed the hook. I then took the spring/pin from my favorite net and installed it into the end of the boat pole. It is super strong and extends out way farther then I will ever need. It also was a perfect fit.

We use Cummins nets that we get from Slippery Sinker. We put them through hell, and they last a few years. I love the big hoop on them. The Beckmans are heavy and I'm not a fan of the round tube handle, but that's just me. Other people seem to love it.

Ditto, what Rich said, about both the Cummins and the Beckman nets.

What ever net you get put a clip on the handle to hold the net tight to the handle, then the weight of the fish releases it. Helps to get the fish IN the net
