I'd rather catch an Atlantic than any pacific salmon. Maybe returning the lakes their native species would be the best.

Do some research on Atlantics in the Great Lakes and you will see it is a failure.  The Canadians stock 600,000 a year and get returns of adults that are less than 50 fish.  NO THANKS!  As long as there are alewives, atlantics will not do well.  The Atlantics are impacted by thiamine deficiency way more than Kings, and Coho.

Michigan and Huron are low on alewive and lake Ontario seems like it has too many alewive at times. On some days I mark more alewive than salmon!! I guess I should be thankful.
