I live in Albany ny  my drive to  lake champlain is  about 3  hrs  what about lake Ontario any  ideas where I could go  catch me  some  fish I am set up  with  downriggers so  salmon trout walley   anything  my boat is a sylvan 90 merc 17  footer

I live around saratoga and fish champlain a lot as well as a few trips to Ontario every year and I always go to Oswego I don't know if it's the best but I have learned it and it's what I know. If your doing day trips don't over look lake george it gets busy during the summer but I fish it a couple times a week and it has some outstanding lake trout fishing.

Is about the same to Ontario ,I fish Mexico area all descent fishing. But the

Lake can be bad at times. Leve home no wind get there 4_5 footers check out the

I'm From albany area and I use Mexico a lot

As it's easier for me and a nice launch with a pay machine at entrance for use of launch. Much less people then Otown but often times mucho Goose poop!! Lol.

Oswego is about two and a half maybe 3 hours from Albany. There's cheaper places to stay close to the launch in Oswego than Mexico and the launch is much cleaner like BigWilly said.
