Anybody out there ever tried the old fashioned Seth Green rig on Ontario? Just curious as they catch plenty of fish in the Finger Lakes. I think  that if I ever hooked a King, I would probably need a new set of fingers, but was wondering if anyone has tried it yet......... Thanks.

Same here on the early eighties but luckily only a couple lakers. I got to thinking more about it when I got home and decided that it wouldn't be a great idea if a big king latched on and you're trying to handline him in on 12 lb test mono leader back then

I have used SG rigs on the big lake.  Mostly I target lakers but in the fall i have caught rainbows and browns.  You can't really fast troll with SG rigs, so the rainbows and browns have to REALLY be in the mood to bite for you to catch them.  i got some juvenile kings that way but it seems like a big chinook would break off quickly.  Definitely use gear you don't mind losing!
