Lower Niagara Smelt Run

Wondering if anybody has any smelt reports for the lower Niagara? Seems time of year and lake temperature are hitting their prime for the run.

Heard of a few guys getting some last week. Very slow though, took 2 guys 5 hours to get their limit I guess. And had to wade out very far, guy said he was out to the pocket in his chest waders to reach them. People in shallower without waders got very little

But they survived!  Why would anyone wade into dangerous Artpark water up to their chest for Smelt!

there is a motel in lewiston just outside of artpark good info,i stayed overnight there a few years ago was done in a few hours1-716-754-4101

nice place and resonable,always better to stay overnight and be rested for the drive back.hey let me know Im always looking for company

Thanks all for the info. I'm not real far away- 45 minutes or so but the slow response convinced me to stay home last two nights. Will probably give it a go next weekend. I always enjoy going up for a few quarts of them.
