While visiting my daughter in NJ we saw an antlered 4 point in her back yard yesterday. Seems to be pretty late in the year to still be carrying a rack but it was a small deer.

Sure does seem late.  I`ve got a trail cam pic from two weeks ago with a deer looking at the cam from about 2 feet.  You can see the bumps on his head where new antlers have started.

My friend in Montana has a crotch horn that just dropped the other day. But there are doe out there that have antlers so maybe..

A buddy of mine sent me a picture out his back door of two bucks with antlers.  I think these are the December rut- late conception fawns that are born a month later.  Mild winter might have something to do with it as calcium for operating systems are taken from bone stores in time of stress.  Not much stress this year.
