When you buy the frozen herring strips for meat rigs should I defrost and put in brine or just use out of package if I defrost and put in brine what kind do you guys recommend. Thanks for any help

Not a pro here but we just use Pautzki (not spelled right) Fire Brine in green or clear, just soak overnight in cooler and we catch salmon
