We were lucky to catch one last minute fish. Tried changing depths, speed, colors, leds, size ad style of spoons and sticks, and locations and only went 1 for 2 in 7 hours. Fished west to Catfish and water was clear ran east to Selkirk and found muddy water to Port Ontario but no fish. Ran back west and picked one up late on the day on a Bay Rat in 17 fow. Ran 8-9 rods all day.

Hey Kevin - makes the great days even greater! Did you guys check lines often? Early in the season like this there's lots of debris in the water. Trolling one plastic bag on the business end can ruin the whole spread. When days like that happen I continue to reset lines and more often then not the poor fishing is due to dragging junk. Just curious if you noticed the same.

We did not have any debris in the water yesterday. We headed west on shake down, not to far, hit 3 in less than 2 hours but they were not in tight. With clear water work the structure and you will find fish. Our fish came on short cores with stingers stretched 120' back.

Thanks fore the advice Rich. Tried deep. And shallow . Two hits came in deeper water. Didn't try the lead cores but ran 100-130 back with split shot and off riggers. I checked lines and switched things up frequently so debris wasn't an issue. Caught the one we got on a bay rat with no weight so it wasn't running very deep in 17 fow. Took today off to scout turkeys.

we were out yesterday, first trip of the year, got a late start 1030 thanks to boat issues.  got one brown in the clear water then trolled to the dirty water.  didnt seem to be a ton of fish in the dirty water as you said.  we boated 2 more eventually and popped rigger line that had a decent pike on it that must have gone for a long ride.  not sure how it didnt trip the white offshore release.

no HOT baits one on a smithwick, one on a firetiger kaboom shiner, one on uv perch stinger, and the pike grabbed a chart alewife stinger.

We went 4 for 5 all in dirty water. Port Ontario area. Magic depth was definitely 22' for us. Stinger spoons 14' down and one big fatty 3.5 - 4 pounder on a old lip less black/gold rattle - trap run on core rod. First time ever on Ontario[emoji2]

Came from Ottawa, Canada to fish today..... Gorgeous morning with 2 quick fish...... Then 2 hits and misses for the rest of the day.....our biggest catch was the boat that broke down when the waves and wind came up..... Glad we were able to tow him back. Hope the bottom of his boat didn't take too much damage. Thanks Fish On for the info..... Great day. Tough fishing but where better to spend my 45th birthday!

Tried an afternoon trip today. Fished 17-25 fow toward Selkirk and moved in to 8-12 fow but had no takers. Water got muddy and was up to 59 degrees? Ran to Catfish and water was cooler and clearer finally hit 2 Browns and a released smallmouth an hour before sunset. Ran riggers, lead cores, and boards changing everything up. Both Browns hit spoons off boards in 6-8 fow. No fish off riggers or lead cores or in deeper water. DEC was surveying anglers and checking fish at the launch.

Fished with Kevin yesterday afternoon.  Covered a LOT of water, switched up lures and depths often in order to get the two we boated. Photo attached was taken as he said " Got enough time to try one more spot".  NEVER SAY DIE!
