Navionics Platinum + or Hotmaps?

Decided on a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch. I've got a couple older mapping cards, but none of them upgradable. For eastern lake o, st Lawrence and some inland lakes, which chip?

You want the platinum plus if you want what they call sonar charts (most detailed chart available). I am in the same situation right now but don't want to drop the money they want for new charts.
