New to Board...Wind Speed/Wave Conditions

Hello,

Trying LO for the first time out of Sodus Bay in a week. 18' Trophy w/cabin; 125 Merc, 9.9 kicker used for bay fishing in salt.  What wind speed/wave height would you consider fishable when trolling for browns?  Thanks.

Unless it is gale force you are good with just about any southerly (SW/S/SE) wind since you will be fishing nearshore. Wind speeds consistently over 10-15mph from any other direction could be tough in an 18ft boat.

In my kayak I go out if the wind is under 8 mph from the North.  10 mph is pretty bumpy but a couple dramamine keeps it all down....usually.

Troutgod welcome I fish out of Sodus PT for browns with my 18 foot wellcraft I prefer waves 2foot of less and south winds any questions give me a call when in town
