I just getting the hang of trolling and my lower unit has a u joint issue was replace last year so I need the marina to take a look at the work they did. My question is where can I fish from shore with a decent chance of catching pike or walleye. I have a canoe but have no clue where to fish with it. Any ideas?

That's the question you should be asking them and demanding it to be done yesterday! A good mechanic wouldn't argue that fact at all if they cared about there reputation.

Yea really 6 nuts and the 2 cylinders that's it, put a new u joint in, an hour later and around $20 later your fishing.

Is it the u-joint, engine coupler, carrier bearing, the shaft & did they line it up with tool  when it went back together ?? Are the splines on the shaft & coupler good? need to know all this.

Unless your bellows has a tear in it and let water wash the grease out of the U joint there is no reason for it to be bad. I agree with the above post, the marina should stand behind there work and if you cant replace it yourself then pull the lower unit off and take the drive to a auto repair place ,they can stick a new one in less than a hour and NAPA probably has them in stock.

Good luck man...... Sorry for your boat troubles. I love catching northerns from the canoe in the spring. Tight lines.
