Ah I see got it 19footer is better for me since I’m towing 3 hrs too go fishing every weeken

The bracket frees up so much space in the back of the boat that a 19 footer becomes pretty spacious.

 

Sometimes I second guess myself on my decision to go with the 22. I tow a lot too, and launch by myself a lot, and a little smaller boat would make that easier.

 

But then again, when I have 2-3 other people on board, I appreciate the extra space.

Is the bracket in any way supported on the trailer?

The reason why I'm asking is all the weight. (The outboard on the bracket is probably around 300 pounds). Is it supported or is it floating in midair?

I have a transom saver on there that’s the only other way for support

They are not really for sale anymore.

Any halfway decent boat canvas maker can make those. But you should pay attention to the zipper on the top canvas to make sure that they use the same zipper teeth size on the new piece that you order.

 Well she’s been running really good , handles pretty big swells and chops 20miles offshore, but I’m dealing with some leaky rivets  what’s the best way too deal with this?  Confirmed.About 20-30rivets … about 10 along the bottom of the V edge , 

1)solid rivets “ strip everything and over hull everything new floors etc 

2) sealed rivets. Are these strong enough ?

If you have 20 to 30 loose rivets, you probably should take the floor and the tank out and replace all those rivets with solid rivets and use some sort of epoxy sealing when you drive them in.

20 to 30 leaky rivets are very exceptional. I am thinking that this many loose rivets may well have been caused by towing long distance with that unsupported bracket hanging on the back of the structure. Heaven knows what else has been shaking loose in there. You should really find a way to support that bracket. Maybe using a longer trailer.

The location of the loose rivets will go a long way in telling you what the issue is.  If it is in the hull itself in the running area that would point to maybe not handling the offshore swells like you imagine.  A bracket mounting issue would likely show in transom and where bracket ties to internal stringers.  I have a bracket mount glass boat and my transom has reinforcement plates just above main stringers.  20 or 30 loose rivets is a big deal and needs to be addressed/repaired correctly.  I doubt this a trailering issue.

The loose rivets are not in the back their all in the front and middle of the boat  as if it’s from slapping the waves too hard , could be also from trailering and I do tow it 3 hrs too too go fishing lol I fken hate those big bumps and dips on the hwy that connects the bridge like sections
