Electric Downriggers

Im looking to pick up a few electric downriggers.  I have only had manuals in the past but am sick of cranking a 12lb weight up from 140 deep.  Are the cannon magnum 5 ST's worth looking into?  they only have a 24" boom but honestly I have never extended the boom on my Cannon Unitroll HPs.  Do I need all of bells and whistles of the digitroll models?  My boat is a starcraft fishmaster 196 by the way.  Im open to all suggestions, not sure if I will buy used or new but am open to anything.

^{I have them on my Trophy 1802 and I like them a lot. I stack a couple of DR rods on each one and maybe even throw on a cheater. I have the 13 lb torpedo weights and it yanks them up quicker than you would even want them to. I use the clutch to lower them and the auto stop works great. I bought them a couple of years ago online and I think they were under $800 to the door. I would do it again!}

I'm in the same boat as you. My buddy just got a set of Scotty 1099's for 375$ a piece and they are sweet. Short booms but they are a lot faster and easier than hand cranking!

I have new mag 5 st's on my superfisherman. 13 lb torpedoes are no prob

Ok guys. Thanks. Just was unsure if I wanted longer booms but didn't think it was a big deal since I never extended my telescoping booms on my unitroll hps.
