Hi, I am new to this forum. I picked up a new set of wood oars for my 12ft aluminum rowboat and I am wondering what type of oar lock setup I should get. I have seen three kinds out there. One type of oar lock I have seen is one piece, that has a clamp that goes around the oar and is tightened by a bolt. Another type of oar lock I have seen has a pin that goes through the oar. This requires drilling the oar. The third type I have seen involves a sleeve (rubber or leather) that slides onto the oar and the oar lock itself is more of a ring or u shaped device.

Which is the better kind to get? Is one type better than another? Thanks!
