New guy from NY

New guy here from NY (just outside of Rome, NY)... long time bass/walleye guy. I run a 18ft alumacraft CS with a 150 Merc, and I'm slightly ashamed to say I live just over an hour from Lake Ontario and have NEVER fished or even been out on the lake before! Been doing a lot of research and hopefully plan on catching my first salmon this year! My port of choice will most likely be Mexico and I joined up to learn everything I can about trolling for salmon!

Welcome this site has a wealth of knowledge. The best thing to do if you can swing it is to go out with a charter and watch you will learn a lot

 Besides the Charter route you can also look at the Tournament Forum here and either post up that your available as a Observer or wait for someone looking for one. A lot of info is given in the South side lake report as well.

When I first started out I bought all of Capt. Dan Keatings books. He fishes Lake Michigan but allot of relevant info
