When you catch salmon or steel how do you treat the fish do you bleed it then put on ice or do you use livewel

Or just Throw them on ice in the cooler

Throw it back and eat my boot for dinner

Bleed it out in the net at the side of the boat and place in plastic bag on ice in the cooler if going to keep it. Spend the time reviving them  if catch and release. They may take longer than normal (for other fish) to come back to life as they have a build up of lactic acid in their body which increases their mortality rate. I've always wondered if they permanently make it after swimming away too

I bleed them out and put them in ice. Filet them and get all the dark meat off the back side of the filet is also key.

Ditto...remove the lateral line too if you want the filet at its best
