I can seem to get a clear answer, I'm from out of state , wanting to fish salmon in Lake Ontario, I know it's 3 daily limit but if I fish 3 days does that mean I can keep 9 total

Yes but I believe that you can only transport 2 days catch legally.

So, if i fish 4 days, limit out each day for total of 12 fish, I can NOT transport 12 clean/packaged fish home on ice?\

I think they have to be cleaned and completely frozen.

Here it is....

Fish Caught in New York State
  • No more than two days' legal take of nonsalable fish may be transported unless a permit is obtained from a DEC Regional Office, or the fish are frozen, processed and packaged for storage.

what ya going to do with 140 lbs of smoked salmon? feed the entire county?

When my brother Stan was still alive  , on a ten day trip in August we would look to package 10 a mix of Kings, cohos , bows or just Kings,,,,, then if anyone else in camp wanted any we would give them to them....... I would keep one or so and Stan about the same...... then we/he would go to relatives and friends with the rest some older ones that didn't fish at all but loved to see us come with them....

A great repay for IOS, and we all have them. I have always be afraid to have over a days limit even though it says two 2 days. We do fish over nite(dusk to dawn)everyonce in a while, but are wore out for the next 24 hours. Soneone said smoke them also can them too .....jk
