Crank bait colors

Hi all, new to this forum, I primarily fish for bass, but a friend of mine has taken me out trolling on Lake Ontario, and got me liking the sport. I plan on taking my boat up to the salmon River in early September, and go for some Kings. I want to use crawlers, egg sacs, and throw crank baits i.e., linda River rockers, magnum wiggle warts, and hot shots. I paint crank baits, and was wondering if someone can give me any input on my lure choices, and some color patterns that could be productive. I'll primarily be in the river, and just the outlet area. Thank You.

I fish stricly with estaz flies once the fish enter the river. I have always done well on the lake with anything Green or black/white. Make sure to check the regulations in the river. I believe the lures need to be the floating style and have a hook regulation. Good luck out there.

Hi, Thanks for the input. Trebles come off, and a beaded chain with a single hook is used on cranks.

What size estaz flies and what colors?

I run 3 colors. Pink is amazing for coho n steel. I've caught browns and kings on orange and I run chartreuse morning and evening. I use troutbead hooks size 6&8

Thank's, at least that gives me a starting point. I want to put on some glow paint on a couple cranks too, can't hurt.

Here is a crank bait I made, I put foil on it. Wanted to try this on a wiggle wart, then on magnum wiggle warts. I have several different metal colors I can put on.

Thank You Chowdaire, appreciate it. I'm coming from Albany, hoping to get some salmon on our trip to Lake Ontario. I had one smoked with flavoring, on a trip last year, and it was fantastic.

Looks like I will be doing 1-2 days this weekend out of Oswego. Hopefully the blow last night brought some more fish to this end of the lake. If not I will target browns and smallies. I will try to do a report each day as there arent many reports coming from that area.

I started making stick bait mold and custom baits and have been trying some new color patterns here's a couple of them

Cast resin alumilite I love that stuff works well.
