After a few lively debates with some fellow fisherman, it seems like none of us can agree exactly what the best temps. are to target for each species of fish while setting up your spread. Hoping some long time trollers can help by listing their target down temps.

Thanks, Jim S.

My List:

Kings 48-55

browns 55-60

steelhead 55-65

lakers 40-50

Jim, Don't be leary to run a presentation in the cold waters for kings. 42 degrees is often a hot zone for matures. I always have a rig parked at that target temp.

Thats my starting point also. Thats where the majority of my bigger kings have come from. Fish highier than that and you will get skips and teens all day long.

Ill typically look for 38-39 and set my deepest rig there. Then work up from there and fish the marks. You asked about 3 other species......wasn't aware Lake O had anything else to offer :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Wow, I actually got something right with the PROs.

I agree with the 39 degrees. 2 springs in a row, that is where we found matures. Last 2 fall outings we found teens in the 48 to 55 range and vapor water from 42 to 48 and matures from 39 to 42. Got to go DEEEEEP.

We try set our deep rigger in the 40-44 range and our shallow in water 48-52 and try to get the 1 wire setup in the same temp range depth and 1 wire running higher in the water column.

i tend to search out the coldest water also. i like to find that 39 degree water and setup from there.
