Need antenna for marine radio please help

Battery voltage of less than 8 volts will allow your radio to receive but not transmit. Check the battery and the supply wires at the radio. Bad connections or light gauge supply wires will screw things up. And

get the biggest antenna u can fit on boat & get it up high.  i have an 8' on my roof of my penn yan hard top.  quality shakespeare antenna.

 

i believe i have the classic 5102 version.

Got it working the damn radio was fried at the transmitting mic had to buy a another radio hooked it up and bam in action oh and I replaced the antenna with a cobra antenna

Now you know that you have to hook up to gps t get the emergency selector switch to work! You won't have gps unless hooked to one.

It's all hooked up and I have a mmsi number all set up and the broke radio was returned for a refund
