Caps on Bert's rod holders

Does anyone have a trick for keeping the rubber caps on Bert's rod holders?  I lost two last weekend.  Should they be glued on?  What kind of glue works?

I put clear silicone inside mine before sliding them on worked great

X3 electrical tape, nice and neat, lasts for years, looks natural with black, or for a little bling match your hull color, blue, red, or whatever!

Cannons are the same. Bought 4 new ones and cap fell off one the second time out. Super glued it with gorilla super glue. Fell off again. This time used the regular gorilla glue. Holds but foamed up around the edges and looks crappy.

Rough up holder and cap with sandpaper. Clean with alcohol and use silicone.

I use a little 3M 5200 inside the caps. They will never move.

Had the same problem with Bigjon, & have switched to Traxtech, as they are permanently affixed to the rod holder. no problems for the last 4 years, & no mickey mouse fixes on them are needed.

Rough it up and dip them in rubber undercoat.

I use double faced tape.

I have used this on my Bigjons and Cannon rod holders works GREAT . Stand them upsidedown after you glue them so the glue stays in the cap and doesn't drip down the rod holder. (ask me how I know )
