Stagers

Is it just me or do the stagers this year seem exceptionally stubborn? I have never had so many nice marks on bottom without a taker. Tried long leads/short leads, fast/slow, spoons/flies/cut-bait/J-plugs and nothing. I’m a big believer of not leaving fish to find fish but in this case it seems to make sense to venture offshore a bit to find more active fish. Not sure if anybody has been able to get these fish to turn on with any consistency?

Yes very stubborn I think in a week we will be good

Thanks, I am hoping for calm enough seas this weekend so I can get out in front of stoney point with my kayak like last year

something to try when they are tight lipped hugging the bottom try running an extra large paddle with meat 6' behind it and slow it down

They typically turn on around 7pm. Then you'll double and triple ha

Try running your meat clean on a longer lead ( no flasher ). Run it along the bottom.
