Not really for hunting but do I need a pistol permit to buy a 9mm carbine? I searched it and cant find anything

dont need a permit for a rifle just cause it uses pistol ammo there is rifles that take 357 , 44 also.  if you go to wallmart looking for ammo they ask for a permit cause 9mm is a pistol ammo. so that is out any gun dealer wont ask

I've got a Kriss Super V that shoots 45 acp. Dicks always gives me a hard time about ammo. Wouldnt think a place that sells firearms would not understand that many different rounds are used by rifles.

My son works at Dicks and they will sell pistol ammo without a permit if you explain the situation and you may have to call a manager but you can get it. That being said go to a non chain store, it's simple, and you support small business in America!
