Salmon River Salmon run

I stayed at Clark's Cottages at the mouth of the Salmon River (Port Ontario) this week end. I know of one boat that got 8 fish near the mouth of the river. I did not see much during the day but they must be there at dusk.

I fished the mouth early Sunday morning and didn't mark any large hooks out to about 25' but I wouldn't doubt they are in close as the sun sets since that's when they like to move in shallower water.  The surface water has also cooled off considerably since then already so it shouldn't be long before larger schools move in.

That's putting it mildly, good luck & be safe out there especially with Jr. He will get a blast out of this combat fishing!! LOL
