Mexico Bay Final Trip

Well as much as I hated to do it, the boat went on the trailer and headed home for the season. I won't say it was the best season fishing but I can't complain and certainly marked more fish this year than in the past few. There's still plenty of fish out there to be caught and stream fishing steelhead is right around the corner. Now it's time to start chasing the elusive whitetail once again. Good luck to all still fishing and to those who venture into the woods. Good Lord willing we'll be back again next year.

with bow season around the corner i winterize my boat this week . my buddy  keeps his boat in a heated shop so fishing will go in late October for us . after deer season i am looking forward to spring .

I hear what you saying Firechief. Did the same with my boat this weekend. Time to get ready for steelies after the salmon run is over. Was by the SR first thing in the am. Silly season has begun.

Don't give up boys. Water is still really warm. Give it another week . I'm headed out for a 2 day trip, I'll post results here.

I'm not giving up. Just changing modes. Time to start dragging up the drift boat for the next couple of months and hitting the rivers. Gonna start in Oswego.

No I know there's good fishing ahead but schedule doesn't permit getting back up for 2 weeks and then it's bow season. Soon enough I'll be back in the river. Hope you fill the box 😀

You guys are killing me, had to stay in the shallow end last weekend. Told myself I was done dragging the boat up and just play in the river a bit. If the wind settles I'm gonna be chomping at the bit. Waiting for your post......

Lost 3 of my best sets. Never had salmon break main line before (40 lb). We boated , net bumped 1 at the back of the boat, missed 4 and hooked up with 3 monsters that all broke main lines. I lost meat market, ice house, and 11" green flasher pulling meat, that one we saw the monster coho jumping 3' out of the water 100 yds behind the boat. 200 worth of gear gone, but what a day.

I did Sunday made long troll across Mexico to past catfish creek and back mid Mexico bay nothing.

That's where I'm going catfish area, 110 to 118 fow. Did really well on the bottom last week . Fished them like trout.
