brother in law passed , left me his mounted tiger musky but it is nasty how to clean

If it's just dust clean the heavy stuff off with a hand brush or duster and then wipe it down thoroughly with damp paper towels. You may need to do it several times.

If it's been stored in a bar or a smoky room and it's covered with dust and tar and nicotine you're probably sol.

A new paint job would require stripping the fish completely. At that point you're almost better off doing a whole new reproduction , for me anyway.

Obviously I can't speak for anyone else but, yes, repros are the same price as skin mounts.

Length and girth or length and weight. A good picture helps with head shape too.

Thanks for comments, but a repo just wouldn't work it is his fish so I will clean best I can and hang it up is a nice mount just smoke and dust stained

just to let all know couldn't stand the fish like that so took it out side and kept spraying with purple power and the guew kept coming off rinse with a light spray and it looks great maybe i lucked out time will tell. wish i would have taken pictures.

Must have been in rough shape. Glad you are honoring the memory of your brother-in-law and his wishes. Hope the mount lasts a long time and continues to look great. Tight lines.
