If the lake is calm and the inside bite sucks, the offshore immature king and steelhead bite can be awesome at this time of the year.

I'm planning on running spoons, flashers with fly's and squids, and possibly j plugs if I get some in time. Will these work for all species of salmon and trout? They were productive in spring but I've never fished the fall bite yet

The offshore bite at this time of the year is mostly spoons and some flashers and flies.  Kings are usually deep and in cold water and the steelies are usually in and above the thermalcline.  Most of the kings are 100' plus down.
