I'm proud to say that my 3rd graders will be the first class in our school to participate in "Trout in the Classroom".  We have an effective, yet primitive set up for our classroom.

On Tuesday the 18th, I'll be driving to Bath NY's hatchery to pick up our 100 eyed brown trout eggs.  We will then place them in our aquarium set up in the classroom and await the hatching of our browns.

I have an effective set up but I would have preferred a better chiller.  Does anyone out there have an aquarium chiller we can borrow for the experiment. We will return it upon completion. The temperature we need to maintain is 50's.

I will be posting updates on the experiment along with pictures of the progress.

That is great Captain. We need to have more fishing and natural resource management programs in our public schools to help students to understand the importance and beauty of all our natural resources and their responsible management. Will be looking forward to seeing updates.
