This week was more confirmation on why I love living in the Thousand Island region and am blessed to be retired and healthy. Monday night I harvested a buck with my muzzle loader. Being extremely warm I boned it out on Tuesday and put it in my garage refrigerator to age. Wednesday a buddy and I caught three walleyes on a quick evening trip on the SLR. This morning another buddy and I hit his marsh and shot 2 black ducks and 3 wood ducks. The regular deer season begins this Saturday but due to a rainy weekend I have a couple goose hunts scheduled with two more groups of friends. I am truly blessed to have a great group of friends and to live in an area with so many varied outdoor opportunities to enjoy.

I hear ya. Hunt waterfowl, or chase walleye in the eastern basin? Decisions, decisions. I may opt for the eyes this weekend.
