What model Tekota line counter should I buy?

What model do you guys recommend for salmon?

 

Also will be trolling for walleyes and browns.

600 LC for Salmon, 500 lc for Browns and Walleye

You should change out the drags that come in these reels, as they are not the best.

Don't worry about the drags on the 500 and 600's.

I own 16 of these reels, some for probably 10 years and the drags are great.

600 LC for mono/wire

700 LC for leadcore and short copper (up to 300 ft)

800 LC for copper up to 500 ft

try and find tekotas that don't have the white numbers on the line counter...

 

you want to find the ones with green numbers....

 

and yes, the 300's, 500's, and 600's, the drags are fine...i own 20+ of these reels....

 

700's and 800's...drags need to be replaced....

On wire dipseys I have both 600 and 700. 700 are a lot faster bringing in long lines. 600s are lighter. Still have not decided which I like better overall. Changing drags on the 700 and 800 reels is worthwhile, inexpensive and easy to do. Wish the 800 had more capacity as 600 copper is too much for it so had to go with Okuma Soltera which is like using a boat winch
