My only suggestion, as poor as it is, is to find the bait or birds and go from there.  I like the idea someone posted about drifting a night crawler in the area.  I don't really know as my success (for lack of a better word) there is very poor.....jk

It might even be worth while to try trolling with a worm harness. I have caught both rainbows and browns on them in addition to walleyes in other lakes. They are usually considered a Spring and Summer tactics but you never know in a multi-species body of water what you might find.

I use them a lot, best on a drift with a little wind and cast lures from the front of the boat.  Yes they work great for trout....jk
