Twilly tips

I have been running wire for a few years now and had to re-tie some swivels tonight. I have been running ugly sticks without twilly tips. When trying to re-tie tonight the wire kept curling up uncontrollably. Does adding the twilly tips help alleviate this curling?

Do you break down your wire rods after each trip? I find breaking them down causes a lot of waves in my wire. I just cut it back a couple of feet after a couple of trips.

No it does not help...I have 10' Uglystics with twilly tips myself and get the same thing...looks like a pigs tail.

I use roller tips and the same thing happens to me. I just cut off the "pigtail" and retie.

No I don't break down the rods I actually bungy the swivel to a rod guide to keep constant tension on the wire. Mark, good to know, I guess I won't put on the twilly until I see some guide wear. No problems in 3 years so far on those ugly sticks.
