Labor Day Trip? Sandy Pond?

Been doing Catfish Creek for the last 5 years or so around Labor Day weekend as was thinking of changing it up this year....maybe renting a house on North Sandy Pond or maybe even go back to Fairhaven we we fished a number of years before Catfish. Can Sandy be good around Labor Day? Is the channel well marked? We have always done well fishing out of Catfish but sometimes a change of venue is nice.

I can't help you out with info on the channel but fishing was good off the pond this year around then. Of course as you know that's subject to change at any given moment.

like the chief said as far as fishing goes,what happened last year means nothing for this year.as far as sandy pond goes,if your boat is less then 20 feet,you should be o.k.but the channel changes from day to day depending on west wind storms.its all sand,so you wont ding a prop,but you may have to get out of your boat to get it off a sand bar.

I'm at 25' and really not looking to do a beach landing in the dark so that info helps my decision.
