Ontario frozen solid yet?

I'm planning on going out this Saturday with a few friends. Weather safe? I wanted to try to go for lake trout this year. How far out and how deep is Ontario Frozen over? Any good places to go out around braddocks bay, irondequoit bay, or the genesee river?

I've never heard of anyone going out on the main lake around here fishing

Ontario rarely freezes over enough to fish, irondequoit bay was iced over but no one was on it. If you wanna fish lakers on Ontario you might as well take a boat out there.

Not even close, wouldn't ever plan on ice fishing the main lake.

I heard of a 22 lb laker taken in Chaumont Bay yesterday.

Nope, no fish coming out of Chaumont at this point. The ice is impassable. The weather is terrible. Nope. Nothing to see here. Okay, kidding obviously. Be safe though. The ice in Chaumont is dynamic to say the least, right now.

Caught 1 keeper and released a short this morning on the bay. Ice was degrading with warm temps and shore line is getting tricky in quite a few places. I was on 4-5"of mealy ice. Hope she holds together till cold temps return but i dont think it will unfortunately. Be safe out there!
