depth raider

Finally got to use my depth raider this past weekend. The coated cable with a 12 pound weight was flowing way back. Does anyone else experience this or do you use a certain weight or type of weight? Temp seemed to be right on the money, just not sure of the speed.

I run the 13lb torpedo weights and the blow back is a lot better and some guys run the shark weights which i hear work awesome but a little pricey. Believe your speeds they will be much different than your surface or gps ground speeds and every time you change trolling direction it will probably change due to the down currents but that is why you bought it to tell you what is going on down there

Gene thanks, I could borrow a shark and try it, then always buy 1 if it works better. I was impressed on how it held the temp, I have a friend with a fish hawh and his jumps around a lot.

That's no problem I started with a ball as well and the blow back was terrible and those 13# torpedo weights made a world of difference! I think I bought them from the A Tom Mik site.
