Is anybody running steel backed with 19 strand off a board? Sounds like this combo should only be run off the back of the boat unless you're adding sections of braid too.

There may be a problem with the wire getting damaged by the clips. Mathew of Torpedo recognizes this and suggests using rubber bands.

From the clip to the rod tip, if I run copper line on planer boards I get alot of sag in the line . It drags the water,so I run a measured amount ( 300') copper & I run mono from the clip to the rod . Won't I have the same problem using steel line behind weighted steel line?  Thanks

The 19 strand wire is light enough to stay in the air, although if the distance from the boat to clip gets very long it will drag a bit more than mono.

I figured the wire would get damaged eventually. Maybe heat shrink that doubles as a distance marker? Not too keen about the wire running out to the board either. Would like to hear if anyone else has been able to do this without losing tackle!
