pinch pad releases

So I'm seeing a lot of pinch pad releases with long leaders up to 5 feet. What is the idea here and how do you reach it for resetting? I see about half or more come with a metal clip for attaching to rigger cable. Do you feel this clip would damage rigger cable?

Dont know much about the ones that clip to the cable. However i like my scotty pinch pad releases because the long leader allows movement which shows in your rod tip when youve got a fish on too small to pop the release

I also use the Scotty pinch pads. The long lead helps with setting lines.... don't have to lean over the side in rough weather like blacks releases.

Hello All, quick question. Does anyone know where I can find wire and clamps to repair broken releases? Pads are good, using cannon releases, need the small gauge wire and clamps to fix a few broken releases.

I just use wire leaders like these with snaps on each end.
