well i still run both i find most spoons have to small of a treble hook and the fish can twist off to easy a good single hook will hold large fish much better in my opinion .with a meat rig i will run a high quality treble of large size for kings seems to work well .

the problem with single hooks is you kill alot of small fish.the hook can go into there brain. stick with trebles

For me it's a speed issue. If I am trolling slow below 2 mph then I put a lighter single siawash on.....otherwise it is a treble.

Agree with Gill-T.  One exception to that rule  for me is if Browns are tight to the bottom - in that case I also like a single siwash hook as they are much less likely to get clammed up.
