I have been fishing Lake O a few years. But not usually in the spring..

I try to run about 2.8mph at the ball.

Should I be slowing down the spring?

Also noticed.. maybe flasher/fly not as effective in spring as spooon and meat.

Just looking for more ways to put fish in the box

If you are fishing shallow water browns I try to stay between 2.0 and 2.5.  If you are going after spring kings 2.8 is a good speed and spoons are your best bet!

1.8 mph in spring for browns and lakers.  If kings are on the graph I pump it up to 2-2.25 depending on water temp and mood of fish.  Then you have to match the speed to the baits you are running.  If you run an NK 28 with a treble at 1.8 mph, you will be washing lures for a long time.

When running slower in the spring I like to put out lighter spoons like stingers they run well at 2.0-2.2 I useally like to put them a little higher in the water colum or wherever I'm marking suspended fish
