I have just purchased 2 more used riggers for my boat and they came with a pair of Roemer Wingers. I have never seen them or have heard anyone using them in there spread. The guy stated they will pull the ball up to 25ft horizontal at 150 ft of cable with a 15 lb weight? With a extra 5 degrees of blow back? I've been using Roemer stackers for 10+ years and have full faith in the releases except for the metal clip that pops out 1 or 2 times a year. My boats beam is just a hair under 7 ft. Extendable booms are in the works but till then would it be worth a trying them out or are they the perfect recipe for a mangled tangled?

Absolutely use them. Great tool to have.  I have been using them for years on my outside riggers with extendable booms. They definitely give you a wider spread. I run 4 riggers with 16lbs weights, the 2 outside ones with the wingers, and dipseys on the outside of them.  Never had a problem. My only concern would be if you used 10 or 12 pound weights, they might get tangled in your dipsey, because they'll spread out farther.
