Niagara River smelt

Anyone know if the smelt are in at Niagara River? Went up couple times last year and completely missed them. Anyone been out this year yet and know if they're in?

I am also waiting for reports on smelt. PBS had an interesting documentary on the great lakes about invasive species anyway smelt was one topic and they run when the temperature gets to 42 degrees.

Yeah, I'm almost 2 hours away. A bit too far to drive to check water temperature. [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]

I heard a 31 lb Brown was taken out of the lower river this morning. I'm sure she knows a little bit about smelt. LOL

There was a limited run of smelt in February.  Not sure if there will be another. Lots of bait in the upper river.

Yes the was a 31 lb brown caught. Capt Frank Campbell. Don't know what they are eating but this one was eating good.

Hey gottadownsize thanks for telling me about that documentary I watched it last night.  It was really intresting
