Fishfinder Thoughts?

I went with the Humminbird 575 for dual use and have been happy with the exception of the noise I pick up on the 'left side' scan with the trolling plate down and the spray the transducer kicks up which I hope to solve this week with a piece of angle aluminum.

You are too low, move it up so it is just at the bottom of the boat. Had the problem and that is what fixed it. Still works at full speed.

I use a B&W Lowrance X-85. Simple and affordable. Works great.

i just installed a lowrance x135, go to thier web site, it allows you to try any of their sounders, plus with a battery add on i can use it as a flasher for ice fishing, $399 at cabellas
