So I built new motor cover when I redid flo9rs and seat frames now I'm trying to figure out what to line the inside with. Looks like it had some sort of insulation on it. Is it for heat or sound? Any ideas what to use? One of my last steps before boat is ready. Hoping someone here has idea

Hot rod shops have a stickon heat reflecting  liner for hoods and firewalls. and under floorboards.  makes it quiter too.

I built my dog house and I used that 1/2" silver on both side house foam, I cut it to fit tight then I used ply wood glue like for sub flooring and I also used 5/8" house wire staples and nailed here and there just for extra hold. I made a frame and sheeted it with 1/2" plywood so the 5/8" staples won't pop through. Hope this helps, you can hardly hear my 350 running.
