Where did you run into them? I'll be out there this week trying to hunt them down either out of Braddocks or I-Bay. I heard Puttneyville had a ton last season, so I may try down there if my buddies up for splitting gas money to do so!

I have been in 18ft to 25ft of water between Braddocks and Light House Point.

No secret spots, I have the Cmap card on the GPS , just look for shoals and

humps in that depth. The fish are not in tight schools, just scatered in my last couple times out.

The lure is called a Speed Trap by Jenson I believe, has a orange belly on it.

Any crank bait that gets down 12ft should work.

I spent a few hours drop-shotting on Watoma and Light House point 4th of July weekend. The 3 fish i caught were nice, but wasnt nearly enough action for a 3 hours I put in. I was marking fish on the bottom, but they weren't active. Your best way to find these fish is by trolling hands down. Once you find a school then you can slow down and hit them with lighter techniques.

If you have any of the old style metal lip Hot N Tots, if not you can find them still.. all black or perch scale,

I do real good with the brown trout on them also.

Bass attack them.. the only thing I troll with for smallies.
