This very same thing happened at the Salmon River. I don't know if the guy lived, but way back when the snagging thing got popular, a guy was fighting a fish and the snag hook came rocketing back out of the fish and hit the guy in the eye with a loud pop. he fell backwards screaming and clamping his hands over his face. When people pulled his hands away there was no sign of the lead and all there was was a hook eyelet with line attached pokeing out of the socket. I also was the victim of my own snag hook coming out of a fish and hit me in my gut with a t-shirt on...That hurt BAD.. thought it penetrated and was afraid to look down there for a few seconds. I was lucky...it didn't stick in me...but left one hell of a bruise just onder my sternum area. countless people really got hurt doing that crap..I'm glad it's over with...cave man style fishing :roll:

Glad they stopped that snagging. No offense to anyone that did it but it was a war zone especially down at the Genny. Wait what I am saying that has not stopped.

While carp fishing in fast water using 1 oz slip sinkers, my buddy had on a 20lb carp and was landing it. Rod bent right over. The hook came out and the sinker hit him right in the forehead almost knocking him out. Left quite a mark!
