Browns are in close, 20 feet or less. Stay out of gin clear water. Look for warm water and water with some pearl essence to it. Lines 100-150 behind the boat and go slow, 1.6 to 2 mph. If you still don't hook up pick up and move. If there is a mudline out of the oak work the edge of it. Gin clear water holds few fish.

Hi all I'm new to spring browns , When trolling "100-150" behind the boat are you flatline trolling ? No riggers , right?

You might want to look at some YouTube videos on the subject. I remember going on another guy's boat years ago and he was using boards but he was putting the releases on backwards. He thanked me for correcting him and said he and his brother could never get the boards to work right.
