Cant find anything online so asking another question. Are there navigational and/or fishing regulations with regard to the navy testing facilities on seneca lake? A dotted line shows up on my FF and besides knowing there are cables and sonar subs in the area...what are the regs....thanks!!

Shoot, I've touched the tips of the cans with the rods lol. Don't go.inside the cans, and if you have divers out, don't get within 50 yards.

I have also donated 30 Sutton spoons on two Seth green rigs in one incident to those cables in the old days which are about the size of your arms in diameter and anchored in 500 ft. of water. They will also yell at you through a loudspeaker if too close:lol:. If they are conducting sonar tests they may ask you to shut off your engines for quite  some time as well.  When asked how far you had to be away from there without them hearing your  (9.9) motor  to interfere with their tests they said at least 5 miles away:lol: They also used to have a 17 ft. Boston Whaler Montauk that would be dispatched to check out folks if need be.

There's now a 24 to 28 footer with twins for their work boat. Last year, there was a naval patrol vessel and helicopter guiding a manned boat that must of have some very confidential stuff. They escorted them after the helo searched the area and we were clear to the north east. It was interesting. Heard a lot of pinging last summer slipped at sampson. Couldn't sit in the boat cabin at the dock the pinging was so loud.
