Where to go?

So if you were towing the boat up for your first trip of the year for a mixed bag from browns to lakers and you had your choice between the oak ,olcott or sodus what would you favor right now?

I would look to where you can launch safely. Water is really high

I've heard that. Couple posts about wilson and olcott seemed to lead me to believe that they were launchable. Minus the junk floating around.

I'm betting sodus point Margretta street state launch is usable maybe the coast guard station closer to the channel would be a better bet. Not sure if you can get down through there right now.

The dock at the coast guard station was open Sunday but the dock was covered by about six inches of water.

Never mind it's another 40 min or so than sodus bay is for me. That's doable. What's the perks of going there ?

I've only fished as Far East as olcott

I think I'd be thinking Sodus at this time of year because if it gets too rough in the lake you can still fish in the bay itself and during the Spring there can be browns and even an occasional salmon in there now especially near the channel. It is always nice to have a nearby backup plan

I was in olcott over the weekend. I have a small boat but plenty of guys launched bigger ones.
Caught brown, cohos, and laker.

Always been an underfished sleeper for browns, out the chute head west!!!

Any recent positive reports out of Fair Haven? Was thinking of heading there Friday, a little far west for me but Mexico seems to be pretty slow these days.

Both public launches at Oak Orchard are usable as they're floating docks. No issues there!

Launched out of Olcott Sunday afternoon no issues launching except debris in the water as you head out of the creek.   Took 2 nice sized lakers and a silver.  Inside was a mess with debris in the water and not worth the effort
