well got the boat back today all the posting were kind of right, checked everything and ended up a screw that when the boat was built went through the transum and in the wire harness finally ware through the two wires to the kill switch. the marina did a great job thank you guys and not a bad $ 195.00 ajiter I wasted 400. payes to let the pros do it . lession learned ..

Did you contact L & M, he is in the know.  Me too I am an old foggie on this stuff but I did damage a coil last year doing that same thing......jk

Do not hook a direct connection from the +  &  -  terminals of the battery to the +  &  -  on the coil !  It will burn the coil out if it isn't already !  PM me a picture of the distributor so I know which system it is and I can walk you thu the relatively easy test procedures for it.

well i didnt conntact L&M as i live north east of utica  - salisbury centercanada lake is closer i think 15miles . as i said thank you to all  for the help . expessaly the guves that pulled us off the lake . I thought I would be the first to help out there but the shoe was on the other foot thanks

Change the high-tension coil wire from the dist cap to coil after a spark test if failed from/to same on original wire. Or your coil may be shot if no flash-over.
