Im not sure. T5 is the newer unit. More compact (doesn't stick past the hull ). About 2.5 seconds from side to side. I'n my trophy with Alaskan top (big wind catcher) unless winds were over 30mph?? I never felt like I was "chasing" the boat to keep up.

I've always had the t4, still do. Mines mounted center of boat so no issues on space. Was just courious on the performance

No. It's a stand alone unit. I purchased for the ability to fish with my kids and solo easier.
Work the gear, net fish, and simply have a remote in my pocket. My 24 cabin cruiser was impossible and auto pilot due to mechanical steering was to expensive
